Month 23

Month 23 shows continued reduction in the number of physical symptoms as it relates to Post Acute Withdrawal Syndrome (PAWS). I still wake up at about 5:30 in the morning with episodes of high anxiety, twitches and shakes. Getting up and going for a walk for about three to five miles puts the anxieties to rest.

Keeping consistent in my diet, walking for exercise, weekly yoga, and my other recovery activities including meetings and service at my church is showing results in month 23 in the sense that I am continuing to regain my health, keeping the extra pounds off, and feeling increasingly better about myself.

In month 22 and still today, I began facilitating a 12 step class through my church.  While the experience invokes anxiety to a degree, the overall experience has been beneficial.

Some days, I am able to walk even farther.  Six and seven miles at a time.

I am looking forward to July ninth as I will have reached the two year milestone since the last time I ingested benzodiazepines tranquilizers.
